Forensic Pathologist testifies in Ponce-Rocha trial

By Heather Sawaski

WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Day two of testimony in the Ponce-Rocha homicide trial got underway Thursday morning with testimony from the Forensic Pathologist who performed Breanna Schneller's autopsy the day after her murder.

Dr. Robert Corliss described to the jury how Breanna had sustained blunt force injuries to her head, consistent with being struck by an iron. He said she also had multiple stab wounds to her face, arms, chest, hands, and throat.

He went on to say Breanna had wounds on her hands consistent with her being in a "defensive posture" at the time of her attack.

Dr. Corliss said he listed the cause of death as "complex homicidal violence consistent with sharp force injuries," meaning all of the stab wounds were contributing factors in her death.

Stay tuned to WAOW, both on air and online, for the latest trial updates.
