Frances Wanta

Frances Wanta went to her eternal rest with family by her side on Thursday January 6, 2011 at Point Manor Assisted Living in Stevens Point.

Frances was born on January 10, 1927, the 11th of 13 children of Vincent and Frances (Berna) Herek, at their home near Polonia, Wisconsin. She married Stanley Wanta at Sacred Heart Church in Polonia on October 25, 1948. They farmed in the Town of Stockton for 32 years. Stanley preceded her in death on December 17, 1996. Frances loved gardening and flowers.

Surviving her are one daughter, Diane (Robert) Wojcik of Fond du Lac, two sons Robert (Ruth) Wanta of Amherst Junction, and Kenneth Wanta of Stevens Point. Her grandchildren are Karla (Josh) Anderson, Jason (Paula) Wanta, Derrick Wanta, Brad (Christy) Wasieleski, Kristi Winters, and step-grandchildren Roberta (Kent) Mortensen and Jennifer (Brandon) Carriere.

Her great grandchildren are Private Cody, Lucas and Nicholas Makuski, Veronica Anderson and Colton and Carson Wasieleski. Step great grandchildren Jared Wanta, and Hans, Madisson, Ana, Christof Mortensen.

Surviving are her brothers Edwin (Verona) Herek, Vincent Herek, sisters Eleanor Golomski and Dolores Yenter. Also brother-in-law Clifford Jensen.

Preceding her in death are her parents, two infant siblings, her husband, an infant son Joseph, and granddaughter Melissa Wanta. Also sisters, Laura Haka, Regina Tidtke, Angeline Zblewski, Evelyn Biadasz, Sally Jensen and brother Roman Herek, sisters-in law, Eugenia Herek and Angeline Herek, and brothers-in-law Steve Haka, Carl Tidtke, Ernest Zblewski, Barney Biadasz, Art Wroblewski, and Ben Golomski.

Services: A funeral mass will be held on Monday January 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (Fancher), 3995 County Road K, Amherst.

Visitation: Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.

Memorials in her name to St. Mary's of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
