WAUSAU (WAOW) -- In Friday's testimony of the Ponce-Rocha murder trial, the state called four Wausau City Police detectives who prosecutors believe could link the 23 year old defendant directly to the victim, Breanna Schneller.

Lieutenant Bill Kolb said he found two hairs on Raul Ponce-Rocha's sweatshirt, which surveillance video showed him wearing the morning of the murder. The sweatshirt was recovered from his bedroom.

Also, Detective Matt Barnes told the jury he found 4 pairs of women's underwear under Ponce-Rocha's bed along with a single gray and black striped glove in the closet. He said that immediately raised concerns because a bag containing Schneller's cell phone found in a dumpster behind the El Tequila Salsa Restaurant where Ponce-Rocha worked also contained 2 pairs of her underwear and a single gray and black striped glove.

"The glove from the dumpster was damaged?" asked District Attorney Ken Heimerman.

"Yes," replied Barnes.

"Where?" Heimerman asked.

"Between the index finger and the thumb," Barnes replied. "It was torn, ripped, or cut."

All of that evidence was sent to the state crime lab for DNA testing. Those experts are expected to testify when court resumes Monday.
