OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Gabe Carimi says it's Wisconsin teammate Ricky Wagner's turn to win the Outland Trophy.
Carimi replaced 2006 Outland Trophy winner Joe Thomas in the Badgers' lineup. Carimi said in Omaha on Wednesday that it's up to Wagner to win it, after he takes over for Carimi at left tackle.
Carimi was selected Dec. 9 as the Outland winner as the nation's top interior lineman. He'll formally receive the award at a banquet on Thursday night.
Carimi has been preparing for the Senior Bowl and NFL draft in Arizona. He spent part of Wednesday on the campus of Boys Town, the home for troubled youth on the west side of Omaha.
He'll graduate in May with a degree in civil engineering, and he urged students to pursue their educations.
