Melvin Lyle Beilke


Melvin Lyle Beilke, 78 of Wausau, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Melvin was born on January 19, 1932 in Wausau, to the late Norman and Margaret (Allen) Beilke. He married Marilyne Westphal on December 5, 1954 in Wausau. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2010.

Melvin served in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a semi truck driver for Foreway Express for many years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church where he served as an usher. Melvin enjoyed camping, boating, reading and cooking. He was very skilled at carpentry and often built projects for his family and church.

Survivors include his three children, Russell (Alison) Beilke of Waitsfield, VT, Lori (Mike) Brzezinski of Rothschild, and Andrew Beilke of Aberdeen, NC; brother, Norman (Clara) Beilke of Arizona; sister, Lynn Guth of Wausau; sisters-in-law, Pat Beilke of Romeoville, IL and Marie Beilke of Hodgkins, IL; 5 grandchildren, Adam Brzezinski, and Max, AJ, Piper and Camryn Beilke.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyne, and two brothers, David and Arnold.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, 330 McClellan St. Wausau. The Rev. David Klutterman will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St. Wausau, and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church.
