MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -- This has been an emotional 20 months for Breanna Schneller's family. Those emotions culminated with Ponce-Rocha's conviction late this afternoon. You could see family and friends of Schneller's hugging and crying following the verdict, relief that there is finally an end to what they describe as a nightmare.

For her Mom and Dad this day has been long-awaited. And, while Ponce-Rocha will likely spend a long time in prison for the murder, they will never get their daughter back.

"I feel like I have been walking backwards for 20 months. I know that I will see her again," said Lori Schneller.

"She is an angel. We will always remember her as an angel. She'll always be an angel to us," said Craig Schneller.

Schneller was just 18 when she was murdered-a future of promise taken away. The courtroom was packed for the verdict, as it has been for much of the seven day trial, with many attending to keep her spirit alive.
