MERRILL (WAOW) -- School board members in Merrill continue to look for possibilities in balancing their budget for the next calendar year.

"That's what we really need," said Merrill School Board member Loretta Baughan. "To hear what the public has to say because this is a decision that will affect every single person living in our school district."

Wednesday night's meeting was the first time the board got together to talk since last week's town hall meeting, where hundreds of Merrill residents gathered to discuss ideas for the future.

"Express your opinions and any ideas you may have for budget cuts," said Baughan. "That's so important because there's always the possibility that someone will come up with an idea that we may not have considered."

Board members said they're interested to hear any suggestions people in the community might have. Even if you can't come to the meetings, you can still get your ideas out.

You can call or email the board members.
