Wis. teen charged with trying to poison stepmother
OCONTO, Wis. (AP) -- A 14-year-old Wisconsin girl is accused of trying to poison her stepmother.
A criminal complaint filed in adult court in Oconto County charges Chyanne N. Otto with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
The complaint says a parent of one of the girl's classmates notified police that the teen was trying to kill her stepmother.
Police say the girl's journal included this undated entry: "I gave her a bunch of junk of stuff out of the garage last week and she is not dead, so I am doing it again with only antifreeze so hopefully it works."
A message left with Otto's attorney Thursday was not immediately returned.
WLUK-TV says Otto was released to the custody of her grandfather last week on a $50,000 signature bond. She's due back in court Wednesday.
