Man could face 96 years for Racine crimes

RACINE (AP) -- A 26-year-old man could face up to 96 years in prison for a 2006 crime spree that included locking two boys in a sweltering attic in Racine.

Martell Rogers, of Rhinelander, was convicted Friday of armed robbery, burglary while armed and two counts each of false imprisonment and forcefully abducting another's child. All are as party to the crime.

He's accused of are stealing a car and a wallet and forcing his way into a home where he and another man forced a 13-year-old boy to ransack the house looking for valuables. They were then accused of locking the boy and a friend in the attack.

His sentencing is set for March 30.
