OSHKOSH- Britta Petersen had 16 points and six rebounds to help give the Pointers the season sweep over the Titans of UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon, 62-54.
After building up a 33-26 halftime lead, the Pointers started the second half on an 18-5 run over the first 11:20 to give themselves their largest lead of the game at 20, 51-31.
Josi Schultz had six of her eight points during the run, while Petersen and Alyssa Olp each added four points in the 11:20 span.
The Pointers would then hold on the rest of the way, as the Titans didn't make it an eight point game until there was 30 seconds remaining.
The win kept the Pointers unbeaten in the WIAC and on the road this season, as they improved to a league best 9-0 in conference play.
Ashley Averkamp and Cassie Bandow each scored in double digits to help lead the Pointer offense with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
The Pointer's shot 47.3 percent (26-55) for the game, while the Titans shot just 34.8 percent (16-46) from the floor. The Titans did however shoot well from the free throw line as they were 18 of 19 from the charity stripe.
The Pointers also shot five of nine from three point range, led by Averkamp who was two for two from deep and Bandow who made two of three from long distance.
The Pointers will return to action on Wednesday when they host UW-Whitewater at the Berg Gymnasium in a game featuring the top two teams in the WIAC.
The Pointers sit atop the league standings with a 9-0 record while the Warhawks are right behind with a 7-1 league mark. The Pointers won the first matchup in Whitewater by a score of 83-69 and the Warhawks have yet to lose any games since then.
