President Obama to address the nation, what people want to hear
WAUSAU (WAOW) -- As President Obama approaches the podium for his State of the Union Tuesday night many Americans will tune in to hear what the President has to say. White House officials say the President plans to touch on five key areas he calls pillars, ranging from education to tackling the national debt. People we spoke with in Wausau say they are concerned about the direction the country is heading and that family incomes are slipping through the cracks.
"The debt is ridiculously high, and I've been around long enough for the so-called recessions and this is by far the worst I've ever seen. Stimulus money wasn't a good idea," said Raymond Lideiks.
The housing industry and jobs were concerns that were concerns of others we talked with. There was some mixed feelings about the stimulus money given out by the Administration. Some told us they feel we should not spend so freely. Others say we need to spend money to help this country out of the recession.
