Man pleads not guilty to instigating fights at ice fishing contest

LINCOLN COUNTY (WAOW)--A Bayfield County man pleaded not guilty after officers say he caused trouble at an ice fishing contest over the weekend.

Jeromie Wilson, 26, is charged with battery, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer, all misdemeanor charges.

According to a report from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, witnesses say Wilson was "intoxicated and starting trouble throughout the afternoon" at Lake Alexander in Lincoln County. Wilson allegedly told people he was a Sheriff's Deputy from Sauk County. He also told them he had a gun.

Merrill police attempted to arrest the man but according to the report, he didn't comply. They used a taser on him and took him to the Lincoln County Jail.

According to online court records, Wilson is out on a $1500 signature bond. His next court appearance hasn't been scheduled yet.
