WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Wisconsin may ask a little more from its voters in an attempt to battle voter fraud.

By the election on April 5th, lawmakers hope to have a new bill in place.

It would require voters to register before election day. Voters would also need to have a Wisconsin issued identification.

Some are worried the new requirements might keep people from the polls.

"It would be time consuming. If they want a good voter turnout, why limit it more than it already is? If people are trying to get other people to hit the polls, they you should make it as accessible as possible," Wausau Resident Caleb Mcarthur said.

The city clerk says less than 10% of voters in Wausau register on election day.
