WAUSAU (WAOW) -- A Wausau man hits the campaign trail in hopes of joining the State Supreme Court.
Joel Winnig said he's been working hard for the working class for the past 33 years and feels ready to move to the state level as a supreme court justice. He said the biggest issues he sees are preserving the integrity and independence of the court system.
"It's not just another government job for me," said Winnig. "It's a chance for a citizen, not a politician, to serve in the government."
Winnig said he's willing to fight discrimination in the constitution and that everyone in the state deserves to have equal rights. He said he was glad to hear Obama visited the state today and hopes political leaders are willing to work as hard as he is for the people of Wisconsin.
