(WAOW) - The Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame opened its doors to a new class of inductees Wednesday.
The ninth annual event was headlined by former Brewers Jim Gantner and Jerry Augustine and featured an appearance by Woodchucks' manager Guido Aspeitia.
The inductees included: Clintonville native Mike Jirschele, who manages the Kansas City Royals Triple-A club and played 13 seasosns in the minor leagues; former Wausau East and UW Milwaukee star Craig Scheffler, who was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and now coaches at Appalachian State University; Bill Helmuth, who spent 30 years as head coach at Merrill High School and 20 leading the Merrill legion team; and Pam Garnder, a DC Everest grad who is now the president of baseball operations for the Houston Astros.
