MADISON (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker says the state Capitol dome will be lit green and gold to honor the Green Bay Packers' Super Bowl appearance.
Walker says the Capitol will be lit for the week leading up to the Feb. 6 game. The Packers will face the Pittsburgh Steelers for the NFL championship.
Democratic state Sen. Dave Hansen of Green Bay requested the lighting earlier this week. Walker, a Republican, says the Packers transcend political rivalries.
The dome has been lit different colors before, including pink for breast cancer awareness and mustard yellow for Madison's annual Bratfest celebration.
