Obama not picking sides for Super Bowl

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama openly rooted for the Chicago Bears to make it to the Super Bowl, but they lost.

Now he says he isn't taking sides when the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers meet next month in the Super Bowl.

During a wide-ranging interview Thursday on YouTube, Obama said he has to stay, in his words, "absolutely neutral on this one" and let the best team win.

Green Bay defeated Chicago 21-14 last weekend to win the NFC championship, dashing Obama's hopes of going to Arlington, Texas, for the Super Bowl on Feb. 6. He had said he would attend the game if his beloved Bears had emerged victorious.
