WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) -- Bundle up this weekend and head to Wisconsin Rapids to check out some frozen art, including one really big snow dog.

The 6th annual competition pits more than 18 teams of snow sculptors against each other starting at 9 AM on Saturday. Teams from all over central Wisconsin will take part in one of the biggest fundraisers for the South Wood County Humane society.

"It's a fun thing to watch," said Phil Hartley, Executive Director of the South Wood County Humane Society. "At nine in the morning, you see them start to carve and you go, what are they doing? At ten, you see a little bit of a shape and later in the day you go, oh, how did they do that?"

Kids can slide down the frozen dog sculpture and everyone can watch while the snow art appears before their eyes over the course of the day. If you get cold, you can head inside the Centralia Center to enjoy soup, live music and the company of some furry friends from the Humane Society.
