Wisconsin tops Michigan Tech 4-2 on the ice


MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Tyler Barnes had a goal and an assist to lead Wisconsin to a 4-2 win over Michigan Tech on Friday.

Justin Schultz assisted on two goals for the Badgers (18-8-3, 10-7-2 WCHA). They outshot the Huskies 42-26 to win for the 11th time in 12 games.

Podge Turnbull, Jake Gardiner and Mark Zengerle also scored for Wisconsin.

Alex McLeod and Evan Witt scored in the second period to give the Huskies (3-19-3, 1-15-1) a 2-1 lead. But Wisconsin goalie Scott Gudmandson was solid the rest of the way en route to 24 saves.

Josh Robinson and Kevin Genoe made 19 saves each for the Huskies. They're winless in their last 21 games.
