Super Bowl travel advisory

MADISON (WKOW) -- Experts advise waiting until at least Wednesday night before traveling to the Super Bowl in Arlington, Texas.

Officials with the National Weather Service gave the warning Monday as a winter storm was heading toward the nation's midsection, threatening to bring sleet, ice and as much as two feet of snow.

The storm shouldn't affect the Green Bay Packers, whose flight was scheduled to leave Monday afternoon.

But conditions could be more treacherous from southern Wisconsin down to Oklahoma. The Milwaukee area could get up to 20 inches of snow by Wednesday morning.

The Madison area is expected to get six to eight inches, with less to the north and west and more to the south and east.
