MADISON (WKOW) -- From the roads to the runways, snow is changing people's travel plans.

Green Bay Packers fans planning to make it to Texas in the next few days for the Super Bowl are rethinking their routes.

"I'm a little nervous going into the snow and the weather," said Kevin Wiemann.

Kevin Wiemann and his wife, Sheila, are getting ready for their trip to Dallas.

"I'm a little nervous of where it's coming into Oklahoma through Missouri," Kevin said. "That's the way we're going to go down, but we have plenty of time."

They are leaving first thing Tuesday morning… if their tickets are here by then.

"They should have been here today but because of the weather on the east coast, they didn't get here," Kevin said.

They could be facing the worst of the snow storm if they have to wait.

Even if you are not going to be braving the roads, catching your flight could be just as difficult. Airlines have already released notices in case of flight cancellations or delays.

American and United Airlines are giving travel waivers for flights to and from the Midwest and Texas Tuesday through Saturday.

This will make it easier for travelers to change their plans.

Workers at Dane County Regional Airport are keeping a close watch on the weather.

"Today has been the calm before the storm," said Jennifer Miller, communications associate at the airport. "We're particularly concerned with what tomorrow and the next following days could bring for air travelers."

They are reminding travelers to check with airlines before heading to the airport and get there at least an hour early.

As for the Wiemanns, they are going to be extra careful on the road.
