Margaret A. Stroik, Age 80, of 7204 Stroik Lane, Custer, died Monday Jan. 31, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born Sept. 12, 1930 in the Town of Alban. The daughter of the late Charles & Theresa (Golomski) Ostrowski. Her marriage to Harry Stroik took place on Nov. 13, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. She was employed as the head cook at the Hot Fish Shop Restaurant in Stevens Point for 25 years. Along with her husband the couple also owned and operated Harry & Marge's tavern on the South side of Milwaukee until 1973 when they moved back to the family homestead in Custer, WI. Her husband Harry died on June 21, 1992. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, puzzles, gardening, picking mushrooms and going to casinos. A memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include One son: Mark Stroik of Custer, Three daughters: Diane (David Shanklin) Stroik of Amherst, Judy (Rick) Rogers of Custer & Mary Stroik of Bancroft. Six Grandchildren & Eight Great Grandchildren. Four Sisters: Marian Ostrowski of Milwaukee, Carol (Joe) Rozmarynowski of Antigo, Shirley (Dick) Glosemeyer of Merrill and Gerti (Larry) Szews of Elderon. Five Brothers: Len (Chris) Ostrowski of Milwaukee, Norbert (Irene) Ostrowski of Milwaukee, Hubert Ostrowski of Arkansas, Jerry Ostrowski of Rosholt & Alex (Betty) Ostrowski of Amherst.

Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Rev. Marcin Mankowski Officiating. Burial in the Parish cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Thursday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski funeral home in Stevens Point and from 9:00 AM until the time of services Friday morning at the Church.
