Majority Leader Suder sees prosperity on the horizon in State of the State
Madison (PRESS RELEASE) – On Tuesday, Assembly Majority Leader Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) issued the following statement regarding Governor Scott Walker's first State of the State Address:
"Tonight, Governor Scott Walker painted an honest but hopeful picture for Wisconsin's future.
"It is no secret that our state is in trouble, but it is also clear that many of us in the Legislature have spent the first month of the new session working to get our fiscal house in order and fighting to get Wisconsin working again.
"In just four short weeks, we have passed tort reform that will end frivolous and unwarranted lawsuits, provided businesses across the globe with incentives to open up shop in Wisconsin, given small business and consumers much needed tax relief, and enacted protections for taxpayers statewide. Thanks to the leadership of Governor Walker and quick action from the Republican Legislature, our state is headed down the path to prosperity once again.
"The challenges that lie ahead are great, but so is our resolve.
"Anything less than balancing our state's budget and getting our economy to a place where people who want to find work can would be a great disservice to the state of Wisconsin and to the folks we are here to represent."
