Green Bay ready for giant Super Bowl party

GREEN BAY (AP) -- The NFL's smallest city has a system.

First, the gear: Clay Matthews No. 52 jerseys, green-and-gold sweat shirts and cheeseheads.

Next comes church, where Vince Lombardi always began his day and where the pastor will bestow blessings on Green Bay players. Then come the sports bars, beer, buffets and tailgating.

When the game finally begins Sunday, Green Bay residents will cheer on their Packers in a Super Bowl for the first time in 13 years -- and help rejuvenate a city where unemployment stood at 9.6 percent in December.

Most of the 2,000 or so hotel rooms near Lambeau Field are booked and bars are expecting capacity crowds. And regardless of Sunday's score, fans will line the streets Monday to welcome home players as their bus arrives at the stadium.
