RACINE (AP) -- A graveside service will be held Friday for the baby born in the bathroom of a Racine restaurant and discarded in an outdoor trash bin.
Racine County Medical Examiner Tom Terry worked with Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospital to make sure a birth certificate and death certificate were issued for the child. Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home will donate the casket and cost of the burial. Terry tells the says the service is open to anyone in the community who would like to attend. The funeral is at 10 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery.
Twenty-four-year-old Breanna Gering gave birth to the full-term infant while at work last August at Perkins restaurant. She has pleaded guilty to reckless homicide.
