NEKOOSA (WAOW) -- The Nekoosa School District is forced with making tough cuts.

The district plans to eliminate eight full-time equivalent positions, as well as two to five full-time equivalent support staff.

The Superintendent says some district staff will move from full-time to part-time.

He also says they're waiting to see if there are any retirements that would save a full-time equivalent position.

"Well, like every district in Wisconsin if not across the country, we have budget challenges. Revenue isn't keeping up with expenditures. The expectation is we have to do more and more for student learning and student success, and we have to do it with less and less," Nekoosa School District Superintendent Dr. Wayne Johnson said.

The district will notify those affected by the end of the month.
