Pointer women clinch share of WIAC crown with win over Blugolds

STEVENS POINT (PRESS RELEASE)- The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team clinched at least a share of the regular season conference championship with a 67-59 victory over UW-Eau Claire (13-9, 7-6 WIAC) in the team's annual Pink Zone game Wednesday night at Berg Gymnasium.

The Pointers trailed at the half 27-26 but used a second half surge to put away the Blugolds. The Pointers saw four players score in double figures including 11 big points off the bench for Josi Schultz. Schultz was aggressive all night against the zone defense of UW-Eau Claire and was key to the Pointer's success in the second half.
