Robert A. Flugaur, Stevens Point, died Wednesday afternoon February 9, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Age 83, Robert was born May 2, 1927 in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Anthony & Ida (Wettstein) Flugaur. He attended local schools in Stevens Point. Robert was a World War II veteran. He entered the United States Army on October 27, 1945 at Fort Sill, OK. He served as a Tech 5 and was honorably discharged on November 14, 1947 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. Robert received the US Army Occupation Medal and the World War II victory medal.

His marriage to Rose Lemke took place on July 2, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. His wife Rose survives. Robert worked for Glendenning Trucking for over thirty years, and also Sentry Insurance for over ten years finally retiring from truck driving in 1991. He enjoyed square dancing, bowling, golfing, yard work and going south to Florida and Arizona for the winter. Bob was a lifetime member of the Msgnr. McGinley Council 1170 Knights of Columbus of Stevens Point.

Survivors include his wife Rose, one daughter Linda (Don) Bella of Vail, Arizona and one son Brian (Fiancé Crystal Coerper) Flugaur of Roshot. Five grandchildren Adam, Joshua, Melissa, Alyssa and Andrea and three great grandchildren. One Brother Ron (Mona) Flugaur of Stevens Point. He was preceded in death by 1 brother Norman, five sisters Joan Giese, Lorraine Glodowski, Jeanette Sturm, Ethel Bord and Phyllis Schelvan.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Rev. John Potaczak officiating. A private family burial will take place at St. Josephs Parish Cemetery next week. Family and friends may call from 9:30 AM Saturday at St. Stephens's church until the time for mass.
