WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Team USA's snow sculptors worked in the snow all week long to make an animal with epic proportions.

The snow dragon slide is their 172nd sculpture. It started out as a giant block of snow and over the past few days, sculptors chipped away until only the masterpiece remained.

The sculptors said they love bringing their talents to Wausau.

"When we come here it's like coming home," said sculptor Michael J. Sponholtz "The people here treat us like family."

Team USA has made their mark at the Woodson Art Museum for more than 20 years. All three men are Wisconsin natives who said they used to love making snow forts when they were kids and are glad they can make them on a bigger scale now.
