3 die after separate Wisconsin snowmobile crashes

TOWNSHIP OF ST. GERMAIN (AP) -- Three people have died in separate Wisconsin snowmobile crashes.

Juneau County authorities say a crash Friday afternoon claimed the life of a 17-year-old Illinois girl. Authorities say she was riding with a group when she crashed on a trail about 90 miles northwest of Madison. Her name hasn't been released.

In northern Wisconsin, Vilas County authorities say a person only identified as a male crashed Friday afternoon on the ice pack of Big St. Germain Lake. Deputies say he hit a snow mound and was thrown from his vehicle.

He was taken to a hospital with severe injuries. The sheriff's department said Saturday he had died. His name also wasn't released.

And in Oneida County, police say 69-year-old Daniel W. Scholwin of Kenosha died after a crash Wednesday night.
