WAUSAU (WAOW)--Thanks to the warmer temperatures, Sunday was the perfect day to head out to a body of water and do some ice fishing.
The Wausau Noon Optimist Club held their 35th annual Youth Fisheree in Rookery Park.
Kids 17 and under got the chance to learn how to fish, or brush up on their skills. Organizers say the event serves around 200 youth each year.
Prizes were awarded to the biggest fish in several species. One lucky angler who caught the "fish of the day" got to have his or her catch mounted by a local taxidermist.
