Rep. Suder reacts to budget repair bill

Representative Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) says he supports the budget repair bill currently waiting for a vote in the Senate.

MADISON (PRESS RELEASE)--We are broke, and the credit card is maxed out.

Wisconsin can either suffer massive layoffs-1,500 public employees in just three months, 6,000 by the end of the next budget-or require public employees to contribute just 5.8 percent of their salary to their pension (about the national average) and 12.6 percent of their salary for their health care premiums (well below the national average).

We are not eliminating jobs or benefits, and we are leaving unions and portions of collective bargaining rights in place.

We have moved this bill through the legislative process in a clear and transparent manner since it was first introduced by Governor Walker-including a 17 hour public hearing-and we will continue that pattern through the voting process.
