Theresa E. Ganski, age 58, Bevent, died on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at her home under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born on April 3, 1952 in Stevens Point, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Esther (Roth) Modrzewski. On October 28, 1972, Theresa was united in marriage to Walter Ganski at St. Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. He survives.
Theresa currently farmed in the town of Bevent with her husband. She loved taking care of her animals on the farm. Theresa enjoyed collecting angels, taking pictures and spending time with children, including her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Walter, survivors include two children, Dawn (Travis Mack) Ganski, Rosholt and Dennis Ganski, Weston; one grandson Alec Mack; brothers and sisters, Lawrence Modrzewski, Wausau, Mary Prazuch, Wausau, Caroline (Ed) Pochinski, Hatley; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Zajackowski, Wausau and Evelyn (Mike) Rozmarynowski, Hatley and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her children, Daniel and David; two sisters, Margaret Janick and Geraldine Modrzewski; one brother, Donald Modrzewski and her mother and father-in-law, Leo and Valeria Ganski.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. The Rev. Rex Zimmerman will officiate. Interment will be in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 9AM until the time of Mass at the church. Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
