Charles Woodson supports state union workers

GREEN BAY (AP) -- Charles Woodson has become the latest Green Bay Packer to lend his support to state union employees.

The cornerback said Sunday he's honored to stand with working families of Wisconsin and organized labor.

Tens of thousands of people have been protesting a measure by Republican Gov. Scott Walker that would end collective bargaining rights for nearly all public employees.

Woodson says hardworking people including teachers and nurses are under "an unprecedented attack" to take away their basic rights. He says as a member of the NFL Players Association he's proud to stand with them.

He joins seven former and current Packer players who expressed their support for state union employees last week. They were Brady Poppinga, Jason Spitz, Curtis Fuller, Chris Jacke, Charles Jordan, Bob Long and Steve Okoniewski.
