Ramona Flaig, of Stevens Point, died Friday evening, February 25, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Age 82 Ramona was born September 3, 1928 in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Hintz) Koback. She attended St. Peters Grade School. Her marriage to Raymond Flaig took place on July 8, 1946 at St. Peters Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband Raymond survives. Ramona was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout Leader for many years. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband, and also loved to do ceramics and going to Bingo. Her most precious time was saved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ramona was a member of the St. Peters Rosary Society Rose No. 9 for over 54 years.
Survivors include her husband Ray of Stevens Point. One daughter Linda (Jerry) Pionek of Stevens Point and two sons Jim (Terri) Flaig of Wisconsin Rapids and Dale (JoAnne) Flaig of Sun Prairie, WI. Her fifteen grandchildren Kris (Tracy) Marchel, Stephanie (Lee) Faucher, Scott (Danielle) Flaig, Josh Marchel, Jennifer Flaig, Kara Marchel, Matt (Amanda) Flaig, Kimberly Flaig, Jason Schauer, Brenda (John) Mallek, Jessica Fancher, Tricia Fancher, Philip (Heidi) Pionek, Ryan (Jessica) Pionek and Ashley Pionek. Eighteen great grandchildren Kylie, KayBri, Caleb, Suzette, Connor, Garrett,
Jacob, Elizabeth, Christopher, Nicholas, Anthony, Morgan, Levi, Brooke, Brenden, Owen, Nathan, Ashton and Matthew. Two sisters Lorraine (Ralph) Studinski and Lucille Konopacki both of Stevens Point. Three brothers Erv (Jane) Koback, Donny (Delores) Koback and Steve (Diane) Koback all of Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Carissa, two brothers Bob Koback and Harry Koback and one sister Theresa Gawlik.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Letona officiating. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, and from 9:30 AM Wednesday at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peters Church until the time for mass.
