WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Wausau city leaders pass a resolution they hope sends a message to Governor Walker.
City Council member Ed Gale said even though not everyone in Wausau agrees, the council had to look at the way the state budget would affect people in the area. Members also took comments from the public and promised to forward them to legislators, opening the lines of communication between Wausau and Madison.
"The savings that I think the governor anticipated at many of the municipal levels may not be as large as he thought," said Gale.
Gale said more than $1 million in transportation money is in jeopardy and possibly more after final budget cuts are announced. City council members said they appreciate the input of all the people who came out for Friday night's meeting.
