Bernard J. “Bunsie” Mozuch

Bernard J. "Bunsie" Mozuch, of Stevens Point, died Sunday morning February 27, 2011 at St. Michaels Hospital. Age 84 Bernard was born February 2, 1927 in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Bernard D. and Agnes (Popowski) Mozuch. He attended St. Peters Grade School and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1944. Bernard also attended UW-Stevens Point and Marquette University before serving in the United States Navy. Upon his return from service he worked for the Soo Line Railroad retiring as a yardmaster in 1986. He married the former Dorothy Zimbauer, she survives. Bernard was a member of the American Legion Berens-Scribner Post 6 of Stevens Point, the P.L.A.V. (Polish Legion of American Veterans) Polonia Post 185, the Amvets of Stevens Point, 40 et 8. VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), Monsignor McGinley Council #1170 Knights Columbus of Stevens Point and the Holy Name Society of St. Peters Parish.

Bunsie is survived by his wife Dorothy and their children James (Kimberly) Mozuch of Stevens Point, Michael (Cheri) Mozuch of Brooklyn, WI., Dianne (David) Lorbecki of Stevens Point, Janice (Sam) Hoff of Parker, Colorado, and Marilyn Mozuch of Denver, Colorado. Seven grandchildren Kelly, Jessica, Kevin, Stephanie, Nathan, Miri and Joseph. Two great grandchildren Kallie and Madelyn. One sister Lois (Jack) Knope of Stevens Point.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Carl.

The family wishes to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, St. Michaels Ministry Health and the staff at the Portage County Home for their special care given to our husband and father.
