Sex offender released into Wausau Wednesday

MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW)--Wisconsin Department of Corrections officials say a child sex offender will be released from prison and into Wausau on Wednesday.

Arthur E. Graves Sr., 57, served 8 years in prison for 2 counts 2nd Sexual Assault of a Child and 1 count of Solicit Child for Prostitution. According to a DOC press release, Graves had sexual contact with a 15-year-old runaway girl in a Wausau motel. The girl was also engaging in acts of prostitution and turning the proceeds over to Graves and another woman.

Graves was released on parole in May 1999. However that was revoked after authorities say he had contact with minors and used alcohol and drugs. Graves was also paroled in 2001 and 2003 but didn't contact his probation officer and returned to prison. Graves reached his maximum discharge date in 2004 and returned to the community to start his 10 year probation. However in 2005, Graves convicted of selling cocaine and sent back to prison.

Graves' mandatory release date is Wednesday, March 2, 2011.

Graves will be placed on the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Intensive Supervision program and monitored by Sex Offender Agent Specialists out of the Wausau Probation and Parole Office. He will be living in Transitional Housing near the Marathon County Courthouse and wear a GPS bracelet.
