WAUPACA (WAOW) -- Thousands of people lined the streets of Waupaca Thursday night hoping the group display would lead to change in Madison.
The crowd included the young, old, teachers, and firemen, led by area labor leaders.
"We have people turning out because of the extreme policy that's in this bill. It's all about rights now about the budget," said Pat Duchene, Chair of the Waupaca Democratic Party.
As they gather signatures, organizers say they are hopeful that by putting pen to paper, they can repeal 14th District Senator Luther Olsen. They say he, along with Governor Walker and other Republican senators, are attacking workers' rights.
"It's a tool to let him know that we're very serious if he doesn't represent us we will take action," said Duchene.
