Community leaders gather in Stevens Point to discuss budget
As communities plan for the future, possible cuts in the Governor's proposed budget are on everyone's mind.
At a statewide planing meeting on Friday night, that issue took center stage.
Leaders from across the state met in Stevens Point tonight. It's an annual meeting meant to bring community organizers together.
Of course, a big topic on everyone's minds this year -- possible cuts from Governor Walker's proposed budget and how they will eventually respond to those potential changes.
"I think all communities are facing real challenges," said Mike Huggins, Eau Claire's City Manager, "both from some of the proposals of the budget adjustment bill, certainly in trying to comb through the 1300 page budget document to find out what todes that mean to us in the local community."
They also say one of their ultimate goals, working with the state in a positive way to reshape the fiscal agenda.
