Protesters, police prep for another rally in Madison

MADISON (AP) -- Another Saturday, another demonstration in Madison.

Protesters and police are preparing for what figures to be more massive rallies at the state Capitol. Protesters were busy early erecting a stage in front of an entrance while others filed into the Capitol toting signs. Police from a number of agencies around the state were everywhere.

Hundreds of thousands of protesters have converged on the Capitol over the last two weeks to rally against Gov. Scott Walker's plan to strip collective bargaining rights from public workers.

The last two Saturdays have seen the largest rallies. A crowd of about 70,000 showed up on Feb. 19, and an even larger crowd gathered on Feb. 26. Police couldn't provide any hard estimates, but said it was larger than the previous Saturday.
