(WAOW) - The girls' basketball playoffs get under way tomorrow.
In division five, top seeded newman Catholic hosts Wisconsin Valley Lutheran
and the Cardinals are enterting postseason play in a way few people expected: with a loss.
Prentice handed Newman its first loss of the season Friday in the first place Marawood crossover game.
Before that, staggering numbers: the Cardinals had won 40 straight games and their last loss came at Marshfield December 29, 2009.
For a team that seemed to be on the easy track to a second straight state title Friday's loss came at just the right time and provided a big reality check.
