Elaine M. Krueger, 80, Birnamwood, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born November 22, 1930 in Elderon, the daughter of the late Paul and Irma (Hegewald) Seefeldt. On February 27, 1954, Elaine was united in marriage to Merlin Krueger at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. He survives.
After marriage, the couple owned and operated Merlin and Elaine's Bar in Eland from 1955 to 1970. The couple then owned and operated a Wick Building franchise in Birnamwood until their retirement. Elaine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Birnamwood and its Altar Guild. Elaine enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, playing cards and ceramics. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and deer, flower gardening and an occasional pontoon ride. Most important to Elaine was the time spent with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Merlin and children; Claudie (Bob) Loesel, Wausau, Brad (Lynn) Krueger, Birnamwood and Kristi (Ellen Walbrun) Krueger, Clintonville, grandchildren; Lisa, Lindsay and Kesi, and one grandson Kaden, who is serving in the Marines and unable to attend; two sisters; Marj (Bill) Beckwith, Appleton and Diane (Terry Luedtke) Ploeger, Wausau, and a brother; Richard (Marie Nievinski) Seefeldt, Elderon. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by two brothers, Del and Ray and one sister; Grace Mathie.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. Rev. Dean Bertsch will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 am until the time of service at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
