STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -- Students at UW-Steven's Point see teachers protests in Madison and hear about the potential loss of collective bargaining rights.

But despite uncertainty, it makes some want to teach even more.

"If anything it makes me want to become a teacher more," education major Nathan Klein said. "I would like to entrench a desire in others to learn, because I enjoy it so much."

Students planning to continue their degree in education say they might have to look for work in other states.

"When we graduate from UWSP with our education. I would say there is a strong likelihood we would be leaving the state, just due to other state's flexibility with teachers and respect level with teachers."

The head of education at UWSP says teachers in training are interested by the events in Madison.

"Students are curious. They are wanting to know more about what the issues are. Why teachers are anxious, where there are so many protests in the Madison area."
