The controversy surrounding a local bar is put to rest for now.
Marathon County Circuit Court Judge Greg Grau upheld the city of Wausau's decision to non-renew I.C. Willy's liquor license
Last summer the Wausau City Council voted on the measure.
That decision followed hours of testimony about loud music and inappropriate behavior inside the bar.
"I'm pleased with the judge's decision. I was confident in the action that the city took initially, and in the process that followed. The court reaffirmed that today," said Lisa Rasmussen, Wausau City Council member.
Tom and Suporn Nowell, the owners of the bar, felt the council was in the wrong and took the issue to court.
The Nowell's attorney, Ryan Lister, says they plan to appeal.
"Mr. and Mrs. Nowell are going to file an appeal in the matter as soon as possible. With all due respect to Judge Grau, we disagree with his decision," said Lister.
Lister also says the owners are looking into a civil case, although he would not share details surrounding that decision.
