Union Leaders Tell Teachers To Go To Work

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Madison and Milwaukee teachers unions are encouraging members to go to work Thursday and wait until the weekend to protest at the state Capitol.

Thousands of demonstrators pushed past security and stormed the Capitol Wednesday after Senate Republicans outmaneuvered their missing Democratic counterparts and pushed through a bill that strips most state workers of collective bargaining.

WTMJ radio reports Milwaukee Teachers Education Association President Mike Langyel is urging members to protest in Madison on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Madison teachers union has told its educators to report to work Thursday.
