UWM Chancellor candidates to do public forums

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The candidates for University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee chancellor will soon take part in public forums.

Chancellor Carlos Santiago left last fall to become chief executive officer for the Hispanic College Fund in Washington, D.C.

The forums will be held between March 16 and March 31 for staff, students and the community to ask the finalists questions.

The five candidates are James Muyskens, president of Queens College, City University of New York; David Belcher, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Arkansas; Gary Miller, provost and vice president for academic affairs and research from Wichita State University; Michael Lovell, interim chancellor at UW-Milwaukee and Lisa Rossbacher, president of Southern Polytechnic State University.

The UW Board of Regents must ultimately approve the appointment.
