Democrats say money is pouring in after vote

MADISON (AP) -- The chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party says donations are flooding in following the abrupt passage of a bill taking away most collective bargaining rights from public workers.

Chairman Mike Tate said Thursday that $250,000 was donated overnight. He says the party has raised $750,000 over five days. Additionally, he says Senate Democrats have raised $750,000 over the past month.

Tate and others say they expect legal challenges to be filed over the Senate's action. He says the action will ensure that efforts to recall Republican state senators will be successful and Democrats will retake control of the Senate this year.

Republicans hold a 19-14 majority so Democrats would have to pick up two seats.
