Fort Campbell soldier killed in Afghanistan


FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - A Fort Campbell soldier from Arkansas has died in Afghanistan after being wounded in combat.

The post says 20-year-old Cpl. Loren Miles Buffalo of Mountain Pine, Ark., died Wednesday of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device near Haji Rahmuddin.

He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division. He joined the Army in May 2009 and arrived at Fort Campbell in October 2009.

Survivors include his father, Cecil M. Buffalo of Mountain Pine, and his mother, Anjanette D. Buffalo of West Bend, Wis.
