WAUSAU (WAOW)--The Portage County Sheriff's Department announces the arrest of a wanted fugitive. Officers from PCSD along with the Waushara County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant at 729 North County Highway K in the Town of Stockton.
According to a new release, officers surrounded a small cabin where they believed 61-year old Sidney Dhein was hiding out. Officers say they ordered Dhein to come out and when he refused they used chemicals to force him out. When he left the building officers arrested him.
Detectives report they found a .22 caliber rifle, a stolen vehicle, marijuana, cocaine and evidence they believe links Dhein to the stabbing of hunter in 2010 in Waushara County.
